"All in a day's work"

It's now easier than ever to make a difference by making a regular contribution to Union Aid Abroad and support projects that deliver real skills to workers and communities in developing countries.

The Australian Taxation Office has recently launched the Workplace Giving Program, which encourages working men and women to donate to a charity of their choice through payroll deductions.

Under the new scheme, employers will deduct the donation before participating employees receive their pay. Employees will not pay tax on the donated amount and will not need to claim the deduction at the end of the financial year.

Donations will be confirmed by employers on employees' wage statements and Group Certificate / Payment Summaries at the end of the financial year.

In each participating workplace, employees will nominate their preferred Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR or charity) from the selection provided by their employer.

By making regular donations through this scheme to Union Aid Abroad you can be part of our global struggle for justice, development and human rights in a very practical way.

And all this through a simple payroll deduction - all in a day's work.
