Position Vacant: Climate Change Education and Environment Advisor - Dili

Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA is seeking a skilled and experienced volunteer to work on climate change education and training in East Timor.

The volunteer will focus on developing education projects about the impacts of climate change on communities in East Timor. Working with our partner organisations, the volunteer will research the impacts of climate change and will run training and information sessions with partner staff. The volunteer will then work with the partners to disseminate this information to the communities using appropriate educational resources.

The second phase of the volunteer's role involves developing environmentally responsive projects with the partners. A number of the partners have projects that could benefit from an environmental focus, such as the carpentry groups, which could prioritise sourcing sustainable timber and the community radio stations who could develop climate change education programs. The volunteer will be responsible for working with each of the partners to assess the ways in which they can incorporate an environmental focus into their project activities.
