Solidarity Partnerships Winter 2012 Newsletter Available Online

The Winter 2012 edition of Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA's newsletter 'Solidarity Partnerships' is now available to download.
In this issue:
- 'APHEDA research presented at major AIDS conference' - APHEDA research into the HIV vulnerabilities of Cambodian entertainment workers was presented at the 19th International AIDS Conference. The conference also heard encouraging news about the possibility of an AIDS-free future.
- 'Advocacy and elections in Timor-Leste' - A few days after Timor-Leste's recent parliamentary election, APHEDA project partners raised the concerns of domestic workers directly with Government representatives.
- 'Manila under water' - Flooding in the Philippines affected an estimated 2.4 million people, with 300,000 people, including APHEDA project participants, displaced by the rising floodwaters.
- 'Finding food security amongst insecurity' - Poverty is not a natural state of affairs or simply bad luck. Poverty is created. Our challenge is to work with people and their communities to identify how they are kept poor and how to create change.
