What's the role?
You will be working as a trade union advisor with Union Aid Abroad - APHEDA's trade union projects in Vietnam. Your work will include things like curriculum development, train the trainer courses and general educational support. A detailed job description is available below.

Where would I be based?
The position is based in Hanoi, Vietnam, but may involve travel to Laos.

When would I start?
Placement duration would be minimum six months, beginning Jan/Feb 2013.

Please note this is a full-time volunteer position. Union Aid Abroad-APHEDA will cover travel costs, work-related expenses and provide a small monthly stipend.

An educator's experience

I have learned so much in this role. It is certainly not a one way process... I shared the excitement of a new enterprise union, established as a result of trying new recruitment methods. I felt overwhelming joy when the Vietnamese trainers told us how much they enjoyed the training methods they learned; when participants told them they learned so much with this new approach to learning... I will be finishing my time here in February 2013. Although I am looking forward to being home again, I also feel that Vietnam will always be my 'other' home.
