Over the past 2-3 years this group of women weavers and seamstresses have made big advances in producing good quality marketable products for sale in Dili and overseas. The women take pride in supporting their families. The varied products are made by Timorese women working in small groups at their homes with family or friends. They can work at their own pace and market the products through the Woven Art shop.
A few months ago WOVEN ART opened a handicraft and souvenir shop in a central location in Central Gardens Hotel near the Dili Post Office in President Nicholao Lobato Street. The shop has proved popular with Timorese, visitors and embassy staffs.
