This gift will assist young refugee Palestinian women to gain a higher education. These are disadvantaged women who through sheer determination and hard work are able to earn some income to fund their higher education. They can benefit enormously from this assistance that contributes to the cost of their textbooks and travel to and from the camp to university. These costs are often an obstacle preventing many from embarking on this path.*

As well as the hardships of life in a refugee camp, Palestinians inside Lebanon find themselves facing further discrimination and barriers to earning an income. Palestinians are forbidden t work in many professions in Lebanon, but can find work if they accept much lower wages that Lebanese workers.  

The Women to Women program, supported by Union Aid Abroad-PAHEDA and our local partner the Women’s Humanitarian Organisation, supports Palesttinian refugee women in Burl el-Barajneh refugee camp in Beirut to further their education and gain employable skills. *
