Communities across the world have been shattered by a lethal combination of neo-liberalism, unprecedented inequality, climate crisis, conflict, disasters and untold human misery. In Australia we have an agenda of regressive positions on migration, climate change, indigenous rights and overseas aid.
There is hope amidst this crisis. Climate change can be a catalysing force for social change by bringing together different constituencies and movements to liberate our fellow Australians and our sisters and brothers around the world. Together we can challenge the post-democratic corrupted political system, in which corporates hold governments to account and governments shrink the space for citizen action. Together we can reclaim communal, collective, and civic ground through our movements.
