Sydney Celebrates Global Solidarity at the 2019 APHEDA Dinner!

Aug 30, 2019

At the 2019 Annual APHEDA Dinner, more than three hundred unionists, internationalists, and activists came together in Sydney to celebrate global solidarity!

We heard our guest speaker, Naw K’nyaw Paw, give the keynote speech on “The Importance of Solidarity“.

N’nyaw Paw called us to stand with the Karen Women’s Organisation in their campaign for women’s rights and for real and meaningful peace.

“We know by working together we can make a difference. I know we are just one people in the world struggling for a better life and basic human rights.  It is by standing together across international borders that we can make a better world.”

Over fifty dinner guests responded to K’nyaw Paw’s call, signing up on the night to join the movement for global justice and equality.

They placed bold bids on the Live Auction and Silent Auction prizes of the night, and tried their luck in the Raffle, together raising over 16,000 dollars that will help Union Aid Abroad – APHEDA and its partner organisations continue fighting for human rights around the world.
